Full Circle
Everyday I do a random act of kindness but one particular day I went to visit my long time friend and I decided to share my story that I share with students in the classroom with her. I brought a beautifully wrapped gift for my friend to open after I finished the story. The items inside the wrapped gift went with the story I told. I shared the story (animated, making jestures just as I do with the children). After I finished, I asked her to open the beautifully wrapped gift (a beautiful vintage tea cup with a fine linen napkin and vintage jewelry). When my friend unwrapped the gift, she looked at the tea cup and began to weep. Between the tears she explained that the tea cup was the same exact cup as her friend (we'll her Sarah) and she used to have tea in when they were kids (around 7 years old) and Sarah had died in a car accident. It was the same cup. I had never heard that story from my friend in all the time I have known her, but I imagine those were tears of joy.
