The Halls + crutches
(Just an FYI, this is not my story, just an act of kindness that I was there for!) At my old school, the 8th grade hallways were always pretty congested when the bell rang. I was in 6th grade at the time. I was helping my best friend at the time who was on crutches due to a sprained ankle, and we tried to (and were supposed to) leave class at least 3 minutes early that way she could get through the classes easily with her crutches. We were a bit too late because we had to stop at our lockers, and the bell rang...and to get to the dismissal area, we had to go through the 8th grade hallway. Someone almost kicked my friend's crutch out from under her. An 8th grade boy then saw us struggling, and he decided to help. He was clearing a path for us through all the (at the time they seemed huge to 6th grade me) 8th graders. He made sure we made it to the dismissal area OK before going to the busses (we were parent pickups). I will always remember that kind person who helped my friend and I get through the crowded halls.
