Pumped Up
My tires gave out in a marina parking lot. One went flat, another low, and I had no cell phone. I saw a group of men working on the engine of another car and asked if one could call for help, I would pay for the call. They did one better, brought a compressor over to my car, filled both tires and said, if I went straight home, I would have enough air to get in for repairs the next day. They charged me nothing. This is the second time someone helped me with a tire. The first time was on a bridge where It wasn't legal to stop. I did and put my hood up. A kind man found I had no spare, took off my tire, got it repaired right away and brought it back to me. In the meantime, highway patrol came to see me and chose not to ticket me, only cautioning me to wait outside the car, on the sidewalk, a safer place to be.. I was so grateful to meet these kind and patient helpers in my times of need when I should have been better prepared for travel.
